Qur’an: How Many Times Are Jesus and Muhammad Mentioned?

September 1, 2014

Many times you hear Christians claim that even the Holy Qur’an gives Jesus pbuh a special treatment. They claim that Jesus is mentioned more times than Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Is this true?

Well, I am here to tell you: no, it is not true. Muslims must respect ALL Prophets pbut equally and must not believe and say that one prophet is better than the other. However, Allah SWT has given each of His Prophets pbut titles. Prophet Jesus pbuh is mentioned many times and his titles are: Ruh (Spirit), Word created from Allah SWT, Son of Mary, the Messiah, Prophet, Messanger, etc. Prophet Muhammad pbuh is mentioned as Prophet, Messanger, the Seal of Prophethood, the Last Prophet, etc. So, who got mentioned more times (as if it makes one any more important than the other)?

Prophet Muhammad pbuh does. Surah  47 (chapter) of the Noble Qur’an is titled “Muhammad.” And when doing search of the Noble Qur’an the results show that Prophet Muhammad pbuh is mentioned 1044 times in the Noble Qur’an! Prophet Jesus pbuh is mentioned 69 times.

Glad we straightened this argument 🙂
